In Defense of Sarah Madson

I don’t know Sarah Madson, wife of our beloved 8th inning wonder Ryan, nor do I know if she actually said those (fan bashing) things as reported by blogger Lauren Goldman but let’s just say she did. Even if she did, she gets my vote of sympathy, support, and a large helping of benefit of the doubt…

How Cliff Lee Will Keep Me Warm All Winter

I should be grateful. After all, I got the greatest Christmas present imaginable. Something I hadn’t asked for, or even dared wish for because surely Santa would have laughed in my face, scoffed at me, for the audacity of suggesting that I deserved to get Cliff Lee on a 5 year contract for the Philadelphia Phillies.

But it happened anyway.

I remember seeing the news blurb late at night on the eve of December 13th. It said that the Phils were among the final 3 bidders for Lee. I dismissed it totally. That dream had been dashed too many times already. Read more

Trades and Injuries: A Girly Perspective

Excuse me for what I’m about to write. I’m going to interfere with
the seriousness of baseball for a sec by being all girly and
predictable. Don’t get me wrong. I love baseball and I love my
Phillies. I love the nuances, the sudden wins/losses, the stats, the
strategies, and I love gripping the edge of my seat during a do-or-die
pitch. It’s a breath-taking rollercoaster ride. But I also watch
because I have a crush on…, well, more than one of the players.
Forget the endorsement smugging Yankees, WE have the hottest team in
